Merlin

Merlin is really a tv miniseries which originally aired in 1998 that retells the legend of King Arthur from the perspective of the magician Merlin. Sam Neill stars in the title character in a story that covers not only the rise and fall of Camelot but also the period at Britain's mythical history that simplifies it. The movie deviates from more traditional versions of the legend, especially by keeping Merlin through the reign of King Arthur over Britain and from including personalities like Queen Mab. The movie was followed by a sequel in 2006, Merlin's Apprentice, which was connected with Arthurian legend.
