Fullmetal Alchemist

The Elric brothers, Edward and Alphonse, are both endowed with the skill of alchemy, which can be defined as the science of transforming one substance into another. The practice of alchemy, on the other hand, is based on a concept known as "Equivalent Exchange," which states that in order to produce one thing, another item of an equivalent value must first be destroyed. After their mother passes away, Edward makes the unfathomable decision to bring her back to life by committing Human Alchemy, which is considered to be one of the most serious transgressions in the field of alchemy. After deciding that they had nothing else to lose, he and Alphonse decided to give it a try; nonetheless, terrible things ended up happening. During the course of events, Alphonse will lose his body, and Edward will lose his leg. Ed is able to save Al by fusing his spirit with a suit of armor, but doing so costs him his right arm and his left leg.
