Expert baduk (go) player Tae-seok loses a high-stakes game to infamous underground gambler Sal-soo, also ultimately ends up framed for the murder of their brother and wrapped up . He vows revenge and trains ferociously. After serving his eponymous sentence, he gets in touch with his brother's prior associate"Tricks," blind and Immunology master player"The Lord," and skillful junk yard owner Mok-su. They begin formulating a strategy to get back at Sal-soo along with his men. Tae-seok eliminates Sal-soo's men one by one, also gradually elevates Sal-soo's inner circle and his gaming combined. However, the true identity of Tae-seok is discovered by Sal-soo and engages him in an final game that could secure the fates of both men involved.
