Emma has worked hard for what she has, having grown up an orphan and being raised by her grandmother. She is proud of the basic life she has built for herself. She's always dreamed of a perfect marriage, but she's had a string of disastrous relationships. She feels she's finally found her soul mate when she starts up a romance with the wealthy Ted, a gentleman she'd always admired from afar, and says yes to marrying him. She's suddenly thrust into a far more opulent world than she's used to. Ted's seductive twin brother Frank, whose feelings for her go beyond family admiration, is also a part of this society.
