Robinson Crusoe

Robinson Crusoe escapes Britain on a ship after murdering his companion over his feelings for Mary, the daughter of the King. A powerful ocean storm destroys his ship, leaving him trapped on an uncharted island all by himself, with no one to turn to for help. Once alone on the island, Crusoe strives to make a meager living by fishing and hunting. It isn't long before he comes across Friday, an island tribesman whom he saves from being sacrificed. In the beginning, Crusoe is overjoyed to have found a companion, but he soon finds himself having to defend himself against a tribe that is using the island to sacrifice tribesmen to their respective gods. Over time, their relationship evolves from one of master and slave to one of mutually respected companionship, despite the fact that they are from different cultures and religions.
