Prick Up Your Ears

Stephen Frears directs this drama focusing on controversial playwright Joe Orton, revealed in flashback after his murder Kenneth Halliwell. Born at the English Midlands, John'Joe' Orton moves in 1951 to London, to examine at RADA, and appreciates an openly gay connection with Halliwell within their Islington apartment from the 1960s. When Orton achieves success with such plays 'What the Butler Saw' and'Loot', Halliwell begins to feel invigorated as well as the future of the pair looks uncertain.
