The Nun
Suzanne Simonin describes her life of suffering in letters. As a young woman she's delivered to a convent against her own will. Since her parents cannot pay the dowry required for a union befitting her standing that they decide she must come to be a nun. Even though a kind and understanding Mom Superior helps her to learn the daily pattern of the convent, Suzanne's appetite for freedom remains unabated.
