Black marketeers Marko and Blacky fabricate and sell weapons to the Communist resistance in WWII Belgrade, living the life that is good . Blacky is eventually abandoned by him, and the surreal duplicity of marko propels him up the positions of the Communist Party and steals his girlfriend. Since Marko comprehends that the situation is ripe for manipulation during the Yugoslavian Civil War of the 1990s, the pair re-emerges after a protracted stay in a belowground shelter.
