Subsequent to the elevators at a new york skyscraper begin inexplicably mal-functioning, setting its passengers at risk, mechanic Mark Newman (James Marshall) and reporter Jennifer Evans (Naomi Watts) initiate distinct investigations. Newman gets immunity from superiors in his company, which fabricated the elevator, while gruesome deaths are caused by other elevator incidents. Law enforcement assume and become involved that terrorists are responsible, but a far stranger explanation surfaced.
