Derek Vineyard continues to be paroled after serving 3 years in prison for killing two thugs who tried to break into/steal his truck. Throughout his brother, Danny Vineyard's narration, we learn that before visiting prison, Derek was a skinhead and the leader of a violent white supremacist group who committed acts of racial offense all through L.A. along with his activities greatly influenced Danny. Reformed and fresh out of prison, as he did Derek severs contact with the gang and becomes more determined to keep Danny from going down the exact path that is violent.
